Our Roman re-enactment helmets are based upon helmets that were worn from
approximately the first century A.D. through the third century A.D. The
term "Imperial Gallic", refers to those helmets clearly derived from native
Gallic origins, and, probably also made by Gallic craftsmen once this region was
absorbed into the Empire. The "Imperial Italic" refers to the same style
helmets, but those exhibiting features and techniques suggesting they were
probably made in Italy. In some cases, the differences can be superficial.
The terms "Coolus and "Montefortino" refer to archaeological sites where the
Gaulish original was found. Allow 8 to 12 weeks for delivery.
